The main compartment opens fully down like a clam shell for easy packing and gear retrieval, and the nicely padded shoulder straps have quick release buckles. A 50mm webbed waist belt is optional and can be packed away if not required. There are additional zipped pockets and enough compartments to keep everything separated, efficiently stowed and secure. Plus, the MOLLE areas on the back and sides of the back allow plenty of space for further gear attachment. The advantage of the lower reservoir is that the weight over the lumbar area is more stable and comfortable to carry.

This whole backpack is very well designed and incredibly tough, with a decent carrying capacity and a subtle, understated military-type colour, and will become an essential part of kit for every expedition.
