Parachute Regiment Black Beret Cap Badge
This is a black version of the Parachute Regiment’s beret badge, which is worn when on operations or outside of barracks. The Parachute Regiment Black Beret Cap Badge is designed to be affixed to the famous maroon beret.
Interestingly, the Paras used to wear the emblem of the Army Air Corps when first formed until their own distinctive insignia was presented to the regiment in 1943. Echoes of ancient Egypt can be clearly seen in the stylized horizontal wings and unlike some other regimental badges, there is no writing on this. Whilst there are no official comments on manoeuvres of any sort by Parachute Regiment battalions – secrecy being of paramount priority – everyone knows that their motto is apt: Utrinque Paratus, which means ‘ready for anything’ in Latin.
This quality beret cap badge is supplied with a backing plate and split pin for fixing to a beret. For the Para Regiment silver beret cap badge, and the maroon beret see relevant links
