Tactical Recognition Flashes (TRFs) are distinctive insignia worn by British Army personnel to identify the wearer's regiment or corps. Originating during World War II, TRFs were initially introduced to foster unit cohesion and esprit de corps among soldiers. They are typically worn on the right arm of the combat uniform, just below the shoulder, allowing for easy identification of the wearer's unit in both training and operational environments.

TRFs come in a variety of designs and colours, each representing a specific regiment or corps. For example, the Rifles Regiment TRF features a black background with a green centre stripe, symbolising the regiment's identity. The 102 Logistic Brigade TRF is characterised by a blue and yellow colour scheme, representing the brigade's logistic support role within the army. The 19th Light Brigade's TRF showcases a distinctive panther design, reflecting the brigade's mechanised infantry capabilities
