Description
The Scots Guards Beret Cap Badge is a military insignia worn by members of the Scots Guards, a regiment of the British Army that was formed in 1642. The badge features a gold metal star with a central red enamel disc, which is set against a black felt background.
The star is a symbol of the Order of the Thistle, which is a chivalric order of Scotland, and represents the regiment's Scottish heritage. The red enamel disc bears the emblem of the regiment, which features the motto "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit" (which means "No one provokes me with impunity" in Latin) and a thistle.
The Scots Guards have served in a variety of conflicts, including the Gulf War, the Balkans, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The regiment is known for its distinctive dress uniform, which includes a scarlet tunic and bearskin hat. The beret and cap badge are worn as part of the regiment's uniform.
